2 Timothy 2:19-21 KJV

[19] Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. [20] But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. [21] If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

INTRODUCTION

Gods expectation for his children is that they be a vessel of honour to his glorious name.The believer is Gods vessel that must be used for his purpose alone.

1.GODS EXPECTATION

2 Timothy 2:19-21 KJV

Anyone called by Gods name must depart from sin.

-You need the Spirit of God like Daniel to be able to do extra ordinary things.When people that matters in the world fails,people with the spirit of God succeeds .

  2.REALITIES IN THE CHURCH

     2 Timothy 2:20 KJV

[20] But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

   There are different vessels in the church:

   A. Vessel unto honour

   B. Vessel unto dishonour 

   Which one are you?

 3.THE DANGER OF VESSELS TO DISHONOUR 

   -Death by Strange fire

     Leviticus 10:1-2 KJV

[1] And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. [2] And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

 -Judgement by using Gods vessel for drunkenness .

  Daniel 5:3-5 KJV

[3] Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. [4] They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. [5] In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.

[26] This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. [27] TEKEL ; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. [28] PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

 4. THE BLESSINGS OF VESSEL OF HONOUR

[21] If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

     ii.Honour and lifting       

Daniel 5:29 KJV

[29] Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

       iii.Heaven at last.

          Revelation 21:3-4 KJV

[3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away...

CONCLUSION

God want you to be a vessel unto honour to your family,your community,your nation,the church and to God.He want you to be a solution giver like Daniel to kings and nations.

*LIFE AFTER 55* An interesting article. *_Life can begin at 55,_* It is all in your hands! Many people feel unhappy, health-wise and security-wise, after 60 years of age, owing to the diminishing importance given to them and their opinions. But, it need not be so, if onlyh we understand the basic principles of life and follow them scrupulously. Here are ten mantras to age gracefully and make life after retirement pleasant. 1. *Never say I am aged'* : There are three ages, chronological, biological, and psychological. The first is calculation based on our date of birth; the second is determined by the health conditions; the third is how old we feel we are. While we don't have control over the first, we can take care of our health with good diet, exercise and a cheerful attitude. A positive attitude and optimistic thinking can reverse the third age. 2. *Health is Wealth:* If you really love your kith and kin, taking care of your health should be your priority. Thus, you will not be a burden to them. Have an annual health check-up and take the prescribed medicines regularly. Do take health insurance coverage. 3. *Money is important:* Money is essential for meeting the basic necessities of life, keeping good health and earning family respect and security. Don't spend beyond your means even for your children. You have lived for them all through and it is time you enjoyed a harmonious life with your spouse. If your children are grateful and they take care of you, you are blessed. But, never take it for granted. 4. *Relaxation and Recreation:* The most relaxing and recreating forces are a healthy religious attitude, good sleep, music and laughter. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well, love good music and see the funny side of life. 5. *Time is Precious:* It is almost like holding a horses' reins. When they are in your hands, you can control them. Imagine that everyday you are born again. Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is ready cash - use it profitably. Live this moment; live it fully, now, in the present time. 6. *Change is the only Permanent Thing:* We should accept change - it is inevitable. The only way to make sense out of change is to join in the dance. Change has brought about many pleasant things. We should be happy that our children are blessed. 7. *Enlightened Selfishness:* All of us are basically selfish. Whatever we do, we expect something in return. We should definitely be grateful to those who stood by us. But, our focus should be on the internal satisfaction and the happiness we derive by doing good for others, without expecting anything in return. Perform a random act of kindness daily. 8. *Forget and Forgive:* Don't be bothered too much about others' mistakes. We are not spiritual enough to show our other cheek when we are slapped in one. But for the sake of our own health and happiness, let us forgive and forget them. Otherwise, we will be only increasing our blood pressure. 9. *Everything has a Purpose:* Take life as it comes. Accept yourself as you are and also accept others for what they are. Everybody is unique and is right in his own way. 10. *Overcome the Fear of Death:* We all know that one day we have to leave this world. Still we are afraid of death. We think that our spouse and children will be unable to withstand our loss. But the truth is no one is going to die for you; they may be depressed for some time. Time heals everything and they will go on.

THE NEED FOR CHANGE

If it's not working, change. 

1- In 1938, Lee Byung-Chull launched Samsung in South Korea as a grocery shop. 

2- In 1940, due to tight competition in the grocery segment, Samsung abandoned grocery for producing and selling of noddles. 

3- In 1950, Samsung abandoned production of noddles for producing of sugar.

6- In 1960, Samsung left selling of insurance and securities for production of television - the black and white television. Not color television.

8- In 1987, Lee the founder and owner of Samsung died. The company now broke into four independent companies- department stores, chemicals & logistics, paper/telecom and electronics. 

9- Same year, Samsung decided to focus on international investing, investing in plants & semi conductor facilities around the world. 

10- In 1990, Samsung delved into real estate abandoning international investing in semi conductors. Samsung built the worlds tallest buildings: Petronas Towers Malaysia, Taipei 101 in Taiwan

11- In 1993, there was heavy recession and Asian markets went belly up, Lee's son who had succeeded him as the CEO of Samsung began downsizing, selling subsidiaries and merged the rest. 

12- With the merging of the electronics, engineering and chemicals division, Samsung became the worlds largest producer of memory chips. 

13- In 1995, Samsung switched to liquid-crystal displays and over the next 10 years became the worlds largest manufacturer of flat screen television. 

14- In 2010, with liquid crystal displays becoming competitive, Samsung launches a 10 year growth strategy, with smart phones being a key focus. 

15- In 2016, Samsung is worlds largest mobile and smart phone maker, outselling iPhone two to one. 

Samsung sales today is over $250 billion and produces a fifth of South Korea's total exports. 

Don't be afraid of change. If you don't change, you become insignificant. Don't be afraid of delving into new waters. Don't get stuck doing same thing over and over again, it's boring. The life is in the risk. The life is in the new!!!

INTRODUCTION

God is calling his children to a life of fruitfulness . He is not happy with our life of barrenness in every way;especially spiritual aspect of our lives.He has a great expectation concerning you and me to greatly fruitful .

I.GODS WELL DRESSED VINEYARD.

Isaiah 5:1-2 KJV

[1] Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: [2] And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. …

We are Gods vineyard on a fruitful hill.

God has invested so much on you.

1.Brought you to life; it is not all pregnancy that came to life.

2.Kept you alive till date;many of your mates are no more alive or not in good condition .

3.Gave you all things; spouse,children,job,house etc.

4.God gave his son Jesus to died for your salvation. John 3:16.

5.Since then,God has been working on you; feeding you with his word and building you up spiritually .

   God is fully aware about all you are silently passing through. It's as if nobody knows. You feel you are alone passing through,God is aware; well informed about everything.

            SOUL WINNING AND FOLLOW UP

  INTRODUCTION:

One of the areas God want us to serve Him is in soul winning. Reaching others who does not know Christ yet and bring them to the light of the gospel.

BIBLE PASSAGES

Matthew 9:35-38 KJV

[35] And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. [36] But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. [37] Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; [38] Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. …

One of the major thing that Jesus gave His life to when he was on the earth was soul winning. He went from place to places preaching the gospel of the kingdom. He was so troubled when he saw the crowd of unbeliever,He said the harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few. He asked the church to pray for labourers ,not "contractors" not "hirelings".

The church is occupied with so many activities living the most important work undone.

 (I)   COMMAND TO WIN SOULS

       A. Jesus called disciples for soul winning

[16] Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. [17] And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. [18] And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. …

    Jesus made it clear to the disciple that we was calling them to win soul,not for any other reason.

     B. Jesus delivered people for soul winning

          Mark 5:15

          And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

          Mark 5:18-19 KJV

[18] And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. [19] Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. …

      C.  Jesus commanded the disciple to win souls

 (II)  CONVICTION OF A SOUL WINNER

        It takes somebody who is convicted , to share Christ with others.It is more effective than hundred of evangelism

      A.PERSONAL ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS

          1.The Samaritan woman-

           John 4:25-26 KJV

[25] The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. [26] Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

John 4:28-30 KJV

[28] The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, [29] Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? [30] Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

   Jesus didn't even asks her to go and preach,neither train her on soul winning . She went out on her own. She encounter Jesus ,the same day she became an Evangelist,and won the whole city to Jesus. That is the power of personal encounter.Lets pray and work on giving them a personal relationship and experience.

       2. THE MAN OF GADAREN.

            Mark 5:15 KJV

[15] And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

[18] And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

[19] Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. [20] And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. …

    The Devil possess man,who was living in the tomb,was delivered by Jesus; and that same day turn soul winner. A mad man now a preacher of the gospel same day.

    In Luke 8:39-40 The whole city was waiting for Jesus,what a fruitful witnessing by a day old convert.

[39] Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. [40] And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. …

    Nobody can argue  with your personal encounter testimony.What is wrong,why the believers of many years can not witness.  We need to work on this before we think of soul winning or evangelism.

 (III) CONVERSATION OF A SOUL WINNER

     Let's now look at some details about sharing the gospel.

    A.Sharing personal Testimony

    One powerful way of sharing the gospel to win soul is by our personal testimony. Your life experience with Christ.

The two powerful example we have considered have these three elements.

         1.Your life before you met Jesus

         2. How you met Jesus

         3. Your life since you met Jesus.

 If you can't explain these three areas of your life you can't win soul by your testimony.

     B.Sharing the Gospel truths.

         1.God love the the world (sinners).John 3:16 KJV

[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

         2.Man separated from God because of sin.Romans 3:23 KJV

[23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Isaiah 53:6 KJV

[6] All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Romans 6:23 KJV

[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

         3.Jesus is the only way of salvation.

[8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

          4.Receive Jesus by personal invitation

[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

[20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

****We must make sure we lead them in the prayer of acceptance of Jesus into their lives.

 (IV) CONSOLIDATION OF SOUL WON  (FOLLOW UP)

  This is another area the church fails. When we preach to people,and they make decision for Christ;we fail to go again and bring them up in the word of God. We expected to come to church by themselves. What we do is like abandoning a new born baby to grow by itself.What should we do?

      1.Pray for them to be established in the faith.

Philippians 1:4-6 KJV

[4] Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, [5] For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; [6] Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

      2.Visit them,to build them up in the faith.

 Teach them about assurance of salvation.They need to be sure that Jesus has come in to their lives.Rev 3:20; their sins are forgivenCol 1:14;they are now a child of God John 1:12;they now have eternal life.1John 5:11-13. They need to know how to read the Bible and how to pray.2 Pet 2:2

 All the above may even be done before they start coming to church,and in the church if they have started coming

CONCLUSION

[7] So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. [8] When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man , thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. [9] Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. …

 You and me God has made a watchman over the world to win them to Him. He is holding us responsible.

INTRODUCTION

Our life time is like a borrowed money to be used to trade,with the expectation to return the money with interest or profit.

1.JESUS IS COMING BACK

[13] Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

+Nobody knows the year,month,day and the exact time that He is COMOING again.

2. YOU ARE HIS SERVANT WITH  HIS GOODS.

[14] For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. [15] And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. …

+ Every one of us is call to serve.

+ Every one of us have a talent .

3.WE ARE CALLED TO WORK WITH OUR GIFT

[16] Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. [17] And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. [18] But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. …

4.YOU WILL BE CALLED TO GIVE ACCOUNT.

[20] And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. [21] His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. + What you did is what you will be rewarded for,as you see them rewarded in these parable.

+ You can't receive profit on work you didn't do,but judgement.

 Which one are you expecting? Reward or judgement . It is not a wish or prayer, but what your service to God and humanity.

INTRODUCTION

Prayer move the hand that move the world. The power of prayer to God is as powerful as God.Instances that looks impossible answers to prayer.This is because God honours and answers the prayer of His people. We shall look at such instances in the Bible that we can believe and enjoys such Gods incredible acts in our lives as His faithful.

A.God want to do new things,but expect you to pray.

Gods expectation for us is to climb to the top of the ladder of spiritual growth. If we are just after the flesh we shall die; but only when we are in the spirit that we shall live. We want to consider some spiritual exercises that will enhance our reaching the top in spiritual growth

[ I ] PRESENT YOURSELF A LIVING SACRIFICE

Romans 12:1-2 KJV

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

@ Surrender yourself as a sacrificial lamb to God. A living sacrifice

@ Make yourself worthy for his acceptance. Be holy and acceptable.

@ Make yourself different from the world. Be transformed.
